Assistant Sous Chef for our Stores in Kødbyen & Søborg

Who are we?
In 2005, Kim opened his small ice cream shop on Kongelundsvej, where he made fresh ice cream in the back room and sold it in the shop. Since then, Ismageriet has grown and is now known nationwide for our unique and flavorful ice cream, cozy retro vibe, and, above all, our smiling and talented staff.
Each Ismageriet shop is managed by two deputy managers and a store manager, along with a kitchen manager, who together focus on well-being and teamwork. We have 20 permanent staff members, and each shop has up to 90 young team members in the peak season. We continually invest in leadership development and training and work daily to realize our vision by, among other things, being an attractive and inclusive workplace. We are seeking a lively, outgoing personality who thrives in a fast-paced environment, ready to keep the queue moving and everyone’s spirits high. As assistant deputy manager, you support the deputy manager as the store manager’s right hand and closest sparring partner. It’s crucial that you can make decisions independently and stand by them. You also need to keep cool and react proactively when unexpected incidents arise on already busy days. You will be part of the daily operations, overseeing the store and supporting the open/close supervisors on the floor, as well as serving guests and fostering a positive atmosphere behind the counter.

Your main areas of responsibility:
- Delivering an outstanding service experience to every guest and acting as a role model for all our employees
- Serving as the store manager’s right hand and stepping in during their absence
- Helping to train, coach, and develop our staff and shift leaders
- Performing light administrative work such as handling orders, purchasing, processing and covering sick leaves, answering customer inquiries, adjusting work schedules, etc.
The ideal candidate:
- Has solid experience as a manager, supervisor, or shift leader in a busy café/restaurant environment
- Thrives under pressure and loves delivering outstanding service on the shop floor, appreciating that guest satisfaction is a key part of your role
- Is comfortable with significant responsibility and has the confidence to act on observations and provide feedback
- Is flexible and ready to step in when needed. You must see the benefits of working at different hours—including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays—since we are open year-round and are busiest when others are off
- Is available to work during the spring holidays and over the summer with a maximum of 2 weeks’ vacation (from June–August)
